Your right this movie was ok but not one I loved. There were way to many slow parts to this movie. It had no flow. Then when gets interesting they kill everybody. I do see people explaining why certain things happen. I find it had a lot of lazy writing. This was not a climax of two movies it was more of a low budget indie film. Shamalyan was forcing twists down our throat. Ugh so many words why this movie failed in my eyes.

I hear you, but a meaningless death is still grounded in reality. And Glass’s ethics are irrelevant. At the end of the day right and wrong is matter of perspective , and he was the only one smart enough to have his version of right prevail. I look at Glass kind of like Magneto. He wanted people that were different to find their place. How they got there was of little importance and that’s what’s reflected in the film, and was HIS movie. Also after that time being locked away it would make sense for him to loose that sense of remorse.

I loved Glass. But hated the ending. Split was one of my favorite shyamalan movies and to get Kevin back right before we lose him forever was just devastating to me. Fuck you shyamalan.

Cinema Wins is one of my favorite YouTube channels, for many of the same reasons others have said in the comments. You just aren’t some guy raving about movies that you think are great, you break them down, and make me think about so many aspects of the film. Every single time I watch one of your “everything great about” videos, I go back and watch that movie again. I have even paused your videos, and looked up some of the things that I had never heard of before. In short, you have actually taught me a lot about how many themes have got to come together to make a movie. Thank you so much. And please accept my condolences on the loss of your dear pet. Pets become part of our family, and the loss of one can be devastating for not only the children, but the “grownups” as well. 💔

Just watched glass and honestly the only problem I have is how david died. I agree that the one guy should not have been able to hold him down. However it is defendable, at least slightly. The man himself could have just been really strong as well but that's unlikely. I feel like the most obvious answer would be that while David yes was able to break the water container, he was down there for a while, not to mention the entire time after he was still sucking in mud. He was weak and unable to get of the ground or even roll over after he got out. That combined with the fact that his mouth was open when being drowned in the pothole makes it slightly more believable. His death is sad yes, but I feel like M Night was trying to say "no the hero does not always win, this is a realistic superhero movie, where they can die". I'm not saying it was a good way to do it, but it's justifiable

I actually am the 2000th comment and also I saw Glass without seeing the other movies, and it was very interesting, but seemed almost like a "theatre of the insane" to me.

Despite the critical reception in reaction to this film I still enjoyed this movie it was this film that made me go back and watch unbreakable because prior that I'd only seen split.

I would have enjoyed the movie a lot more if Elijah had saved David, outwitting Staple one last time as she thought all the loose ends were wrapped up. It would have gotten the point across that DD would have gone out in a puddle if not for Mr. Glass, and given Glass another stinging defeat of Staple. As well as showing that Glass really did care for David. The tragedy of Kevin/Hedwick and Elijah's sacrifice would have been enough. As is.... David is miserable until the very end of his movie, Unbreakable. We don't actually see his "glory days" as we pick up after his wife passes. Heck, he spends the majority of Glass locked in an asylum and doubting himself, only to have the one majorly triumphant scene of him breaking down the door. In Unbreakable David accepting himself allows him to improve his brutal life.... from our perspective this movie completely undoes that, even if by his perspective he had 10 more years with his wife and 15 as a hero. He doesn't even share in Elijah's sacrificial arc. I do think he deserved a better ending.

Oh wow yes!! I loved Unbreakable and Split and when I saw Glass most of it I loved but there was something about it that made me wince a little inside and I couldn't quite figure out why until I saw this video. The movie was good but David's death was completely juxtaposed to everything Unbreakable gave us. He took two movies that gave us plausible super humans grounded in reality and pushed us out of that into some shadowy cult keeping super powers a secret that felt too fantastic.

For David i got the sense that he was fairly depressed and when the guy was drowning him i got the feeling he was just ready to die and didn't want to fight it anymore

At the end of the day it's amazing how good this movie is. If M Night tried making it 2006-2013 it would have been a zero out of ten probably. Blumhouse knows how to steer M Night in the right directions.

I actually "liked" it that Davids death was so meaningless. He is not Superman, an Avenger or another prominent and really famous figure. He is a guy who helped some people and tried to stay under the radar. He is still a nobody in the grand scheme of things despite the media covering some of his exploits. His death means nothing to the world. Nobody would mourn the Overseer (except of course his son). People would likely forget him in a really short time while the next big thing comes around. The only thing that makes his death meaningful is the footage that Mr. Glass leaked to the world, revealing in the aftermath that David was not just any vigilante, but a super powered one.

The first time I watched split I wasn't diagnosed with DID yet but I really connected to Kevin's story. When I saw Glass in the cinema I already had my diagnosis and seeing him killed off like that really left a big impact on me, despite it just being a movie. A lot of people say split and glass are bad because they demonize DID but I don't agree with that, it's fiction, and fiction is always gonna be an exaggeration. Not all people are good and thus not all alters are good either. I loved the movies but I really didn't like how they were just killed off like that.

Makes me think of the one comic series where Superman made a world where there was no superman, to see what would happen if he wasn't there for Earth. Eventually people make a superman, whether it be physical or fictional, because humans will always create an ideal to strive toward and uphold.

As much as I understand and agree that killing David really sucked and I wish it disnt happen. I do have a slight explanation as to how that might make a bit more sense. Though he is clearly losing against the horde in the tank he may have used his last bit of strength to break the tank. After being submerged in water his powers are weaked and hes just a normal 60 year old man. So it isnt too unrealistic that two SWAT members can hold him down into a puddle. By then his powers were depleted as well his strength. As heartbreaking as it was this is the best explanation I got for you. Though I agree I didn't think GLASS was a bad movie I would rather watch SPLIT or Unbreakable at the end of the day. I'm sorry to hear about your chicken and know that everyone here cares about you. At least I do.

every once in a while, i enjoy movies like this. Sometimes i can appreciate a soul crushing film. Im one of the sick people that love the dark and insanely depressing ending to The Mist. Things don't always work out. Each movie was about the individual character, as most commenters have pointed out. This, was Glass's film, so im not mad about what happened to Dave.

My ex girlfriend told me she didn't want me to watch Split or Glass because of how it portrays people with DDNOS, DID and other related dis-associative disorders, cause I guess they're portrayed in a really negative light. Didn't watch the film just wanted to share that.

I'm not even 18 yet. My connection to david is weaker than yours. So I understand your disappointment in his death. I'm ok with it. The one guy drowning him his garbage and him dying to reveal a twist was annoying, but I get what the movie chose to do. It was glass, his intellect was always going to beat David and David was needed to show the world, that their hero was truly special. I would have appreciated a more heroic death to David Unbreakable Dunn, but the movie satisfies me.

What I don't get is why you think a movie with a DID character b being bad is a way for people to lump the rest if them into evil doers? No one I know watched Split and then said, "Fuck, people with DID are fucking evil" You bringing up every PC thing in every movie kinda takes away from the review. While I am an ally and want justice for all it really makes me cringe when I hear you bring it up in every review. Especially when the movie isn't even tackling those issues.

I had trouble accepting Dunns death at first but in the long term I have come to accept the Stark truth, heros take risks and heros die. and that is the message. David played his part and he managed to save people even when they didn't really deserve to be saved. He was a true hero. I honestly hope this is not the last part of this magnificent trilogy. These 3 films were Shamilans crowning achievement.
